The Top 5 Most Influential Mommy Bloggers That Promote Great Gut Health

By now, most of us know the gut health basics: eat a diverse diet full of prebiotic rich foods, avoid antibiotics overuse, incorporate fermented foods daily, cut out the added sugar, and keep the stress levels to a minimum.  But where do you go to get details and support on how to do these things and to stick with them?

I've collected a list of my five favorite mommy bloggers who my wife and I read regularly to get ideas, recipes, support, and other great gut health things that we incorporate into our daily to promote great gut health for our family.

1. Janice and Susan, 5 Minutes for Mom

After being featured in the Wall Street Journal, Janice and Susan from 5 Minutes for Mom finally got the following they deserve. The identical twins and work-at-home moms are blogging about everything from family life to photography and travel, and a healthy gut is just one of the things they keep insisting on in their posts.

Subscribe and you’ll learn how to boost your baby’s immune system with infant probiotics and which sweet snacks keep your blood sugar stable, plus a recipe or two for delicious and healthy breakfasts that include Greek yogurt. Since Janice and Susan are all about real food and organic living, on 5 Minutes for Mom you’ll find no shortage of actionable tips for changing yours and your little one’s nutrition for the better once and for all.

2. Leah Segedie, Mamavation

As founder of Mamavation, Leah Segedie was named “Mom of the Year” by Shape Magazine. Both The Huffington Post and Fitness Magazine featured her thoughts on healthy living and food activism, and it doesn’t take more than a quick look at her writing to understand why.

In between general advice on how to improve your kids’ health and nip obesity in the bud, Mamavation includes a number of ready-made regimens for eating clean, finding hidden infections, and healing your gut. Start with 5 Steps to Fight Inflammation, and browse on from there.

3. Jenn and Erin, Fit Bottomed Mamas

Fit Bottomed Mamas is a sister blog that welcomes new moms straight from Jenn and Erin’s other site, Fit Bottomed Girls. While FBG introduces ladies to the world of fitness, FBM broadens its range of topics to family life, teaching us how to stay healthy during and after giving birth.

If you’re looking to find weekly meal plans, learn how to eat wholesome foods without breaking the bank, and master the art of pregnancy nutrition in a few easy steps, look no further – Fit Bottomed Mamas is a place where taking good care of gut flora is as important as looking fit and gorgeous.

4. Lauren, Working Mom Magic

Lauren is a working mom of two wonderful kids, with plenty of experience in parenthood and fitness. She’ll explain in detail how to work out when you have literally no time and how to pack a healthy, filling salad, but that’s certainly not everything you’ll find on her blog, appropriately named Working Mom Magic

Gut health-wise, Lauren’s posts feature a myriad of probiotic-rich foods, along with some pretty convincing thoughts on why you should make them a part of your daily diet. For when you need new yogurt recipes that are both nutritious and exciting for taste buds, Working Mom Magic introduces frozen yogurt bites, sriracha, cranberry tuna salad, and much more

5. Katie McLaughlin, Pick Any Two

Why visit Pick Any Two and follow Katie McLaughlin on social media? Because she’s not only a regular Huffington Post contributor with refreshing ideas, but also a holder of a master’s degree in Women’s Studies. If well-being is your obsession in life, Katie knows exactly the things you need.

More importantly, she’ll reveal her first-hand experience with keeping your youngsters’ gut healthy and balanced. Pick Any Two is a brilliant source for moms who are searching for creative ways to trick their kids into loving wholesome foods, so be sure to check it out.

These five influential mommy bloggers should be added to your list of must-reads if they are not already on there.  I hope you'll find the inspiration and support that we've found from their wonderful stories, articles, tips, and recipes.
